Activities for Children/Community

Awarded scholarships to outstanding TJHS
Seniors. Support Birth to Three Development
Center. This group helps developmentally
challenged children and their families. Provide support to the Federal Way Senior
Center. Two members are also on the board of the Federal Way Senior Center. Provide financial support to the
Multi-Service Center Food Bank. Members volunteer at the Multi-Service
Center & around the community. Cook & serve free lunches to senior
citizens at the FW Senior Center about every three months. A major Kiwanis and
Key Club project. Two members are also on the board of the Federal Way Senior
Center. Support the Pacific Northwest
Foundation. This Foundation awards grant
to PNW Kiwanis Clubs to assist in their projects and to disaster relief
throughout the PNW District. Support the Kiwanis International
Foundation. This Foundation awards
grants to Kiwanis Clubs throughout the world for projects in their
communities. Participate with South King Fire &
Rescue during the annual Community Food & Toy Drive for needy families in
the Federal Way community. Support & participate in the local annual
Relay for Life, raising funds to fight cancer.
Sponsor & support a Builders Club
at Totem Middle School. Support the Kiwanis Pacific NW District
Kiwanis Children’s Cancer Program at Seattle Children’s Hospital, raising money
to fund an ongoing fellowship for research. We have an active BUG – Bring Up
Grades, program at 3 elementary schools, helping the students by recognizing
their achievements. Distributed Student Dictionaries, in
partnership with the FW Lions Club, to third graders at Mark Twain and Star
lake Elementary Schools. Make available the WSP Law Enforcement
Camp to interested HS student each summer. The
